Brook Lopez: Reggie Evans steel cage match.

Jared Sullinger Boston Celtics, Reggie Evans Brooklyn Nets

Lopez’s last two weeks have been nothing if not encouraging — he’s decimating opponents on the offensive end, and his rebounding numbers are higher than they’ve been since his rookie season. But he still needs more. I only see one way to make this possible: let’s get a morning-of-game-day cage match between Lopez and Evans, each standing at one corner of the cage, with a basketball in the middle. Whoever has possession of the basketball after one minute gets to start at center in the next game. Watching Evans dive for the ball like the meaning of happiness lies inside of it can only inspire Lopez to do the same. Best hope that Lopez, who hasn’t come off the bench once since the eighth game of his career, has a little bit of pride.
