Brooklyn Nets New Year’s Resolutions

Tornike Shengelia: Remind P.J. you exist.

The 21-year-old Georgian import talked his way onto the Brooklyn Nets summer league team after being taken in the second round of the 2012 draft, and then played his way onto the 15-man roster, but hasn’t been able to talk his way into playing time since. Tornike Shengelia AKA #TokoLoco AKA The Tokomotive has only played in 9 games this season to the tune of 4 minutes per game, so there isn’t much to say about his on-court performance.

The high motor forward did have a Jeremy Lin-esque triple double in his one game D-League stint, and did throw down this thunderous dunk in garbage time of the 39 point route of the Magic in November (note Magic announcer calling him “Shen-ga-vila”). If #TokoLoco wants to continue to eat apple pie and wear fitted hats awkwardly, he’ll have to hope P.J. or *insert new Nets coach here* gives the rook some playing time. Otherwise, it might be #HelloTbilisi.

Alternative resolutions: Get road announcers to pronounce your name correctly.
